Education:​

  • Received PharmD training at the Medical University of South Carolina​
  • Completed post graduate training in hospital pharmacy (PGY1), and specialized training in Critical Care (PGY2), at the University of Kentucky, followed by obtaining board certification in pharmacotherapy​
  • Currently a PhD candidate in Clinical and Translational Sciences through the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky
     

Experience:​

  • Dr. Thompson Bastin is a MICU critical care pharmacy specialist and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky Medical Center
  • Serves on multiple national and international committees related to the improvement of critical illness outcomes
     

Areas of Interest:​

  • Her current research involves pharmacokinetic monitoring of beta-lactam antibiotics and development of novel AKI prediction models in critically ill septic patients​
